Satin creates less friction than cotton or elastic, so it tugs less at the hair shaft and leaves a softer crease. If you tie your hair up daily or sleep with it up, satin is the gentler choice.

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, press between towels and dry flat in the shade. Do not wring satin or embroidered headbands.
